Our organization has a goal to feed those in our community who lack food security, but also to help foster growth and self-sufficiency throughout the Bronx. Some of the first steps toward meeting these goals are to alleviate crises, and then assess the situation. Fortunately, government assistance programs are designed to help those without adequate resources, to have their needs met
Our Social Services Referral Program helps connect clients with the resources necessary to reach stability and self sufficiency. As a member of Food Bank for New York City’s Tiered Engagement Network (TEN), we are able to collaborate with other charities and agencies to help meet the needs of the community. We offer case management services, social service screenings, assistance with applications for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program- formerly Food Stamps) and other benefits (see below). It’s never too early to start planning for the future.We offer assistance with applications for the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and assist with community engagement placement.
